About The Fashionable Housewife
I blog full time. I work at least 10 hours a da,y 7 days a week. And I am a stay at home mom to a beautiful 2 year old little girl. Besides running Fashionable Media and the three blogs in that network, I also own and manage my own web designing company - Delectual Web Design. http://delectual.com Being a stay at home mom and running my own businesses from home doesn't leave much free time for me anymore, but I enjoy yoga, music, dancing, guitar and kayaking.
Something not commonly know about The Fashionable Housewife:
I used to be a professional ballet dancer and have performed in large productions like The Nutcracker and The Willis Ballet. I also used to be the assistant manager of a large campground on the biggest lake in the north east, Lake Winnipesaukee.

About The Fashionable Housewife
As you may already know, there are NO other fashion blogs that are geared towards mom and housewives. It`s a completely untapped market that consumers and advertisers have been missing out on until now. The Fashionable Housewife is completely unique fashion blog that bridges the gap between mommy blogger and fashion bloggers. There are so many women out there that become parents and then forget about taking care of themselves. I show them how to not only take time to keep themselves healthy and beautiful, but how to do it on a budget. The site was launched in May 2006
History of the blog
started The Fashionable Housewife blog in May 2006 without any prior background in media other than intermediate web design. I`ve always had an interest in fashion, which stemmed from my mother starting her own children`s consignment store when I was 3 years old. The store was appropriately named Sarah-Jean`s Consignment Store. Spending many years in a clothing store increased my love for fashion 10 fold. Getting to experience the changing seasons of fashion for most of my childhood gave me a new respect for designers and fashion trends. Our consignment store featured big name labels and designer children`s clothing, and we saw mostly mom`s shopping in our store. Even at a young age, I noticed that most mothers didn`t take care of themselves. I would see frumpy moms come in and buy beautiful clothes for their kids, while they themselves were only wearing a t-shirt and mom jeans. This never seemed right to me. My own mother was definitely a Fashionable Housewife and always looked great. Later in life, I became a huge fan of TLC`s What Not To Wear. It really inspired me to see Stacy London`s passion for fashion and making women (mostly moms!) dress better and in turn feel better about themselves. Since I figured I couldn`t have Stacy`s job, I decided to start The Fashionable Housewife blog so I could help moms look better, feel better, and dress better all while staying within a reasonable budget and caring for their family.
Future plans for the blog
I have brought on board several contributors to help add new content to the blog. I will also be included in a Lucky Magazine newsletter this coming November and am in the process of arranging for an interview in several magazines. I also plan to add another blog to my network, Fashionable Media, before Spring 2010.
