About Perfectly Imperfect's Beauty Blog

The name of my blog, Perfectly Imperfect, is very much a tongue-in-cheek approach to a blog commenting on an industry that strives for perfection. I am a perfectionist that has come to terms with the fact that it is my imperfections that allow me to be unique. This is the approach that I take with my blog-embrace your imperfections and highlight the aspects that make you unique. I see myself as a beauty commentator. I am humbled that people want to read about my opinions and suggestions. Thus, the Perfectly Imperfect Beauty Blog is a compilation of musings from a fellow makeup addict about the world of beauty. Here you will find product reviews, tutorials, fashion trends, makeup looks, and industry commentary. As a beauty commentator, I am committed to giving my readers genuine and honest reviews that examine all aspects of a product or beauty line. My beauty philosophy is that makeup should not be used as a mask for insecurities. Instead, makeup can be used a medium for self expression and used as a tool to highlight the features that show the world who we are-our smiles and expressive eyes. I have a longstanding love affair with the joy of writing so I am very aware of the rhetoric and tone that I use in my posts. My blog is directed towards the 18-40 year old woman who values quality and honesty. I am very clear to stipulate my integrity policy on my blog. I ALWAYS disclose when a product is sent to me for free. I do not accept all free products offered to me, but when I do I make it clear to the company that I will be honest for their benefit (to improve) and for my readers. The site was launched in December 2008

History of the blog
As I stated before, I find great joy in writing and sharing my ideas. As a teacher it is in my nature to want to share with individuals how to do things and what to look for when selecting products. My very first blog was a personal blog that I started as a creative outlet to discuss current events, personal stories, etc. I found writing so cathartic and a great medium for personal growth. When I discovered the online beauty community I was eccstatoc to find other women who shared my interest in beauty/fashion. I found that I was not content simply with leaving short comments on videos and blogs-that I wanted to share what I really thought in detail. It was a sort of "If they can do it, why can't I" scenario. So during my Christmas holidays in 2009 I sat down in front of my Christmas tree and filmed my very first beauty vlog that was quickly followed by my first beauty post that evening. Since then, I have been addicted. I have since started a third blog dedicated to book reviews and I think that all three of my blogs show to my readers the range of my multi-faceted personality and interests.

Future plans for the blog
My blog will stay true to its identity as a place to find reviews, suggestions, tutorials, and commentary on new products and fashion trends.
