About Sarah
I'm definitely not a full-time blogger, but I do enjoy reviewing and testing new cosmetics! I'm interested in providing the most accurate, unbiased information that I can, for the purpose of weeding out the best and worst products that companies have to offer. My interest in cosmetics lies mainly with drugstore products and other inexpensive brands.
When I'm not blogging or researching the newest (or most well-loved) cosmetics, I'm a full-time student at a local technical college. I'm also a cinephile and LOVE to read!
About the Merciless Melange
When I write a product review, I don't attempt to pander to a certain demographic. I don't give beauty hints or tips, I just give my honest opinion on makeup and other beauty aids. I always try to go into the most detail that I can about a given product -- whether my feelings about it are positive or negative.
History of the blog
I launched my blog after becoming increasingly interested in makeup. I'd been watching beauty vlogs and hauls on YouTube for quite some time when I realized that most of the women creating them were spending hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars on lipstick, eye shadow and foundation every year! It was this realization that prompted me to begin a blog focusing on affordable drugstore and department store cosmetics.
Future plans for the blog
In the future, I'd like to be able to do a compare-and-contrast review of two products with another beauty blogger. I would review a drugstore product, for instance, and he or she would review a product of a similar nature (but of a supposedly higher quality and price). The results from each would be condensed into a single blog post, allowing readers to directly compare the two products and hopefully arm them with some helpful insight the next time they're out shopping.
