RatzillaCosme primarily focuses on Japanese cosmetics. Unlike other beauty blogs, it consists of 80% factual information and 20% personal opinions/views. The posts are written in a way to allow readers to grasp the key details of a given product as quickly as possible (less than a minute). The website strives to provide up-to-date, unbiased, detailed information on each product with a dash of personal insights along the way. It is the only English-based online database on Japanese cosmetics. Instead of self-promoting my website through social networks and blog linkings, I rather let my website speak for itself; afterall, word of mouth referrals are the best form of advertising. The site was launched in June 2009
History of the blog
I wrote my first post in June 2009 and launched RatzillaCosme in its present form in March 2011 as an answer to the lack of accurate information in English on Japanese cosmetics. It started as a personal archive of information I have provided to friends and it quickly grew into a large comprehensive database, and as regular readership grew, reviews were added due to numerous requests.
Future plans for the blog
Redesign of website layout to enhance visual appeal and better searchability within the site.
