About Modesty

I'm a stay at home Mum to three small children. Before I gave up work to look after the small people, I worked as a skin microbiologist. This inquiring mind requires more than just a daily dose of Cbeebies and blogging fits the bill nicely!

Something not commonly know about Modesty:
I used to extract pore contents from volunteers using superglue and a glass slide. Who said science wasn't glamourous?!

Modesty Brown deals with cosmetics and beauty for real women, particularly specialising in niche and high end brands. Many of the products featured are online only or hard to access which makes honest reviews even more essential. The site was launched in March 2010

History of the blog
I started writing Modesty Brown when my third child was only a few weeks old. Initially it was a fun way to keep myself sane whilst at home with three small children. It has evolved into a resource for others that enjoy high end and niche products.

Future plans for the blog
I have plans to introduce a couple of new features including interviews from beauty professionals and a series to find out more about blog readers favourite beauty discoveries.
