About Angela Hall
My obsession with makeup began at age 5 when I got a Marie Osmond makeup head for Christmas. Before I was even old enough to wear makeup, I'd amassed several binders worth of product and makeup artistry info. I even developed the odd habit of using watercolor markers to redo the makeup on the glossy pages of magazines. I guess my destiny was trying to get my attention.
For me, makeup is spiritual. Cultures around the world paint their faces for ceremonies. From weddings to wars, there is power in paint. Creating beauty from bottles, jars and tubes goes beyond art... it's alchemy.
I started blogging to share all of the information that I've gathered over the years. I want to pass along what I've learned to others. I'm blogging part-time at the moment while working full-time and also pursuing a freelance makeup career. Before I came to beauty, I was a sales manager in educational and advertising sales.
Something not commonly know about Angela Hall:
I've been doing makeup for weddings, special occasions, theatrical events, and photo-shoots for over 15 years. Additionally, I’ve received hands-on and classroom training from some of the best makeup artists the country. Candace Corey, Kevin James Bennett, Sam Fine, Orlando Santiago, James Vincent, Jinny Houle, Bisi Eissen, and Michael DeVellis have worked on celebrities ranging from Tyra Banks to Lady Gaga and I’m blessed to have learned from them. I’ve also received brand-oriented product training from Kett Airbrush, MAC, Make Up For Ever, and Stila. MY LIFE I have a graduate level education, but chose to follow my passion instead of a paycheck. I love football ( BOOMER SOONER). I buy clothes to match my makeup. I like German Industrial music but I don't speak German. I make killer BBQ sauce. I recently started collecting vintage makeup and makeup ephemera and I L-O-V-E old movies and movie stars and "old hollywood glamour".

My blog is a written from the perspective of a professional makeup artist. It's a more technical and a lot more snarky than other beauty blogs. The site was launched in January 2012
History of the blog
The blog began when I got tired of answering questions from folks on facebook and decided to make a blog with all the answers.
Future plans for the blog
Future plans are to add interviews with prominent beauty figures, review more obscure and indie brands, and to add techniques and a q and a segment.
