About MakeupMistress
I love my job. And I can't help writing about what I do as a film and advertising makeup artist; and especially about the gorgeous products that I use. Makeup Mistress is my form of meditation.
History of the blog
I started Makeup Mistress primarily as a marketing tool for networking to promote my work as a makeup artist. And it began to get a lot of attention, ...from the beauty industry. I was asked to review products and I embraced the opportunity to use these products practically at work; which led to a lot of interest from models and actors that I work with, and all of a sudden my blog was no longer a personal endeavour, but a beauty blog with international exposure.
Future plans for the blog
I often feel myself drifting into more of a bloggerzine, which was never my intention. So, I am beginning to focus on building a stronger and more loyal readership by making posts more real and more positively and productively informative. I plan to start my YouTube channel soon, and will dedicate it to broadcasting a series of tutorials that feature my favourite products and hopefully I can include some local celebrity interviews as well! I've already been offered opportunities to run giveaway and competitions on my site, so that is also in the pipeline.
