About Kevin Lynch

Myself and Amber Share eat, sleep and breath this blog at least a few hours a day. Amber is a trained chef, graphic designer, writer and photographer. I have been a full-time freelance writer for three years. We got into this out of a real desire to meet food and wine producers. When were not blogging we're looking for new things to blog about.

About Native Food & Wine

Native Food & Wine is a web site dedicated to exploring what we eat and drink. Each story takes the visitor on an informative journey. Unlike other food and wine related sites the focus is not on the host(s) but on the farmer, producer, winemaker or ingredient. At Native Food and Wine we examine how local and regional ingredients define a place and how people around the world respond, sustain and enjoy themselves in their respective environments. Genrating content for the Native Food & Wine site has entailed heading out into the world to meet with a wide range of food and wine producers all passinoately involved in producing the finest food and drink the land offers. Since its beginning in 2009 Native Food & Wine has met with dairy farmers in Nebraska, chatted with duck farmers in Warkworth, New Zealand, tasted wine with a new generation of winemakers in the Barossa Valley, cooked kangaroo with the Aboriginals in Sydney, dined with food hawkers in Singapore and made pecorino in Tuscany. The site was launched in May, 2009

History of the blog
Native Food & Wine launched in May, 2009 in response to what we felt was missing from food related blogs and websites and that was genuine content. Relying on old school reportage, face-to-face meetings with food and wine producers and beautiful design we have set off around the world to profile those who make a difference in the food world and, more immediately, in their communities.

Future plans for the blog
At the moment Native Food & Wine is in Italy. We will be here until Fall of 2010 gathering content for the site. Our food and wine travels have taken us to four continents. In the fall or 2010 we will be heading to California to devote six months to the rich food and wine scene there.
