About Vera Marie Badertscher

I am a freelance writer specializing in travel. Blogging about books and movies and travel has taken up more time than freelance writing in the past two years. I have also written, with a partner, a biography of a Navajo artist.

Something not commonly know about Vera Marie Badertscher:
Writing is my third career. I have worked in theater, and then as a political consultant, before developing a writing career.

Vera Marie Badertscher in the press:
A Traveler's Library is a finalist in the 2010 Bloggies, Travel blog category. I am part of the Travel Insights 100, a featured blogger on Lonely Planet, active on Twitter, Stumble Upon and Linked In. About A Traveler's Library

This is the only blog on the Internet to specialize in books and movies that influence travel. I include personal accounts of my travel and frequently use experienced travel writers as guest writers. The site was launched in January 2009

History of the blog
I started in in January 2009 because I wanted exposure as a writer. My two greatest loves are reading and travel, so that was a natural subject. I added movies, realizing that they also influence travel.

Future plans for the blog
Six well-respected bloggers have joined A Traveler's Library for once a month contributions focusing on travel with music, cultural travel, movies that travel, pet travel, family travel and food travel. Because of reader input, I will frequently do one or two week themes concentrating on one region or country. I continue to guest blog on popular blogs and get well-known writers to guest on mine.
