About Anne-Sophie Redisch
I'm a bilingual freelance writer based in Norway. My work has appeared in in-flight magazines and various other Scandinavian and English print and online media, including British Airways' Business Life, National Geographic's Intelligent Traveler Blog, Journeywoman, the Matador Network and Boots'n'All.
I wrote NileGuide’s travel guide to Oslo and the accompanying blog from December 2009 to March 2011.
Something not commonly know about Anne-Sophie Redisch:
I adore exploring new destinations. There's nothing quite like hopping off a train in a new city, not knowing what's around the corner. So far, I have travelled to more than 100 countries on six continents. My two daughters increasingly insist on coming along to enliven the travel experience. Antarctica must therefore remain a dream until my youngest reaches the minimum age-limit required by the expedition companies (not long now). I have lived in Norway, New Zealand and the USA. I'm a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and member of The International Travel Writers Alliance and Travelers’ Century Club.

About Sophie's World
Sophie's World focuses on travelling with children and teens, often to the world's more unusual destinations. So far, more than 60 countries are featured. In addition to the more traditional travel destinations, the blog covers unusual spots, from Svalbard to Tonga, from the Middle East to the Balkans. The site was launched in August 2006
History of the blog
I started the blog as a calling card for my travel writing. Sophie’s World is syndicated on Lonely Planet and is featured in an eBook by the LonelyPlanet Blogsherpas to be released 3 May 2011.
Future plans for the blog
One aim of Sophie's World is to inspire readers to explore the world's more curious and often unsung corners. In 2011, even more countries will be covered. The blog will feature more photographs and videos.
