On New Year's Eve 2010, I left a comfortable existence - an amazing PR job in NYC, great apartment, wonderful church, family and friends - to see the *real* world all by myself.

History of the blog
With my 29th birthday looming, I knew I wanted to do something exciting to celebrate... and what could be more exciting than leaving it all behind for a year on the road?

Future plans for the blog
I've decided not to cap the trip at a year like I first intended. I'm going to continue traveling as long as I can... celebrating my 30th birthday with great white sharks in South Africa and enjoying the next chapter of my life however it comes.
