A personal way to speak to your customers
Social networking has created huge opportunities for marketers to communicate with their audience in a more personal and direct fashion. One of those opportunities is to use online publishers who have the respect of their readers to advertise or endorse your products and services. It is a cost effective and efficient way to market to a large, global audience – or to a targeted, local market.
For example, Ford is loaning 100 Fiestas to social media trendsetters for six months so that they can share their experiences online. The campaign has gone beyond social media and has had significant press coverage in national newspapers and on several TV channels, including Fox.
In another example, T-Mobile in the UK sent G1 phones to leading mobile experts and invited them to the official G1 launch in London - it was a great success.
